Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved, but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.” Harold as a teenager knew he was called to preach the gospel and began by speaking to crowds out of the back of his pickup truck. He continued that journey throughout his life and had the opportunity to pastor several churches, speak in 50 nations, pray with the sick and see them healed from cancer along with many other miracles. He’s prayed with hundreds of thousands of people that included actors, professional athletes, congressional leaders around the world, and presidents of several countries. His faith in almighty God was unwavering and he passed that on to everyone he came in contact with. Betty was by his side on Tuesday when he smiled and asked that she release him to be with our Lord and Savior because he had finished his call in this world. His children were on the phone with him as he told them how much he loved them and all his grandchildren and to continue to trust in God and said although he will miss them “I’ll SEE YOU THERE.” Betty was by his side all day and had left the hospital for the evening Sept. 14 when shortly after she received a text from Harold. Some days he did not have the strength to speak and would use sign language or simply give us a thumbs up. He was able to say many things on his final day. In true Harold fashion he sent her one final text at 10:30 pm as he knew this was his final moment, it was simply a picture of Chuck Norris (family inside joke) with a thumbs up as if to say…I’m ok, I know where I’m going, the time is now, I’m ready to see the King and I chose to go. Harold went to be with Jesus at 11: 22 PM. Your prayers and support over the past 2 weeks have been a testament to his life and to all those he touched. We thank you for your love and continued prayer as we walk out the rest of our journey without him. Philippians 3:12-14 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do; forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. v20, 21 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
The family will be making final arrangements and share details as they become available.
